Karen Hyland Karen is thrilled to join the Broadway U community! And to think it all started teaching her 60 year old mother tap via Skype every week! Originally from Chicago, she has performed and taught all over the world. Most recently she was seen in the national tour of Billy Elliot. While traveling the country, Karen had the opportunity to teach master classes to local studios as well as give weekly lessons to the child performers in the cast. She has choreographed off-Broadway for Primary Stages, the One Night Only benefit starring Faith Prince and John Lloyd Young, SIx Flags Great Adventure Fright Fest, taught all disciplines of dance at studios in the New York tri-state area, and has also served as the announcer for Showstopper dance competitions. As a performer Karen has been seen in the City Center production of Anyone Can Whistle starring Sutton Foster, the 1st national tour of White Christmas, the Radio CIty Christmas Spectacular, the European tour of Grease, as well as productions of 42nd Street, Joseph.., Crazy For You, The Producers, ... to name a few. Karen can't wait to pursue her love of teaching in this exiting new medium!
